With 31 years experience in lead acid battery industry since 1991 to till date. Mr. Palanisamy has worked in different departments right from design to final testing in various position hence contributing immensely towards total technology for the battery industry. Of the31 years, he has has worked with M/s Exide industries Ltd Hour VRLA project as an officer technical for 5 years.
As an experienced battery technologist, Dr. Achim has worked across the globe with major battery manufacturers and key suppliers to the battery industry. He received a Master’s Degree in physics from the Technical University of Clausthal, Germany and an MBA from the University of North Carolina, USA.
Mr L Pugazhenthy, (well known as “Mr Pug”), is a Past National President of The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) and also the Executive Director of India Lead Zinc Development Association, a 61 year old non–profit, non-commercial body that disseminates technical information on Lead & Zinc as well as their downstream markets.
Dr. Thuppi Venkatesh is a professor Emeritus at St John’s Medical College Bangalore. He is CEO and the Director of the Foundation for Quality India (FQI) and the Director of the National Referral Centre for Lead Projects in India (NRCLPI). Dr Thuppil is the current National Chairman of the Indian Society for Lead Awareness and Research (InSLAR) (www.inslar.org).
Currently working as a Principal Scientist and heading Lead Acid Battery group & CSIR-Battery Performance Testing and Evaluation Centre (NABL Accredited) at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), a premier R&D institute in the field of electrochemistry under Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.
Dr. Carter W. Abney earned B.S. degrees in chemistry and theoretical mathematics from the University of Wisconsin in 2005. In 2007, he graduated from the University of North Carolina with a M.S. degree in chemistry, before working as an Analytical R&D Scientist and ORISE Fellow at the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
Ranabir Chakraborty, has been with Lead - Acid Battery Industry, for more than 40 years, starting with Exide Industries Limited for 26 years, having worked in its Shamnagar factory, heading Corporate Projects and then heading Manufacturing operations of all its plants as President Manufacturing. During his stay in Exide he got exposure to various battery making plants and machinery manufacturers across the world. He also attended various Battery Conferences and presented papers.
